Aurora in the Community
At Aurora, we strive to be an integral part of the communities we serve. We believe better health care leads to stronger communities. That's why we are strongly vested in the 30 counties and 90 communities we serve. We partner with schools and universities to prepare the next generation of health care providers. We support free clinics, provide year-round community education and implement green technologies to help protect the environment. Collaborating with elected officials and other industry leaders, we work actively to influence meaningful reform to improve health care in every way possible.
Caregivers Helping the Community
Every year, Aurora caregivers participate in the Aurora Partnership Campaign to support the United Way. The campaign allows caregivers to lead with purpose by supporting their preferred not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization in Wisconsin and northern Illinois. In 2012, the Aurora Partnership Campaign raised a record $3.15 million. Since Aurora does not charge an administrative fee, 100 percent of those donations go directly to the selected organizations.
Aurora Health Care Foundation
As a not-for-profit health care organization, Aurora relies on the generosity of individuals and corporate donors to help support programs and services that help people live well. As the economy continues to soften, a growing number of children, families and adults rely on us. Contributions to our foundation help keep health care affordable, improve the patient experience, and support advancements in our hospitals, clinics and home health services.
Aurora Board of Directors
Aurora Health Care is governed by a community board of directors. The board, which consists of business and community leaders, oversees the strategic and financial decisions that shape Aurora's future.
