National Research Corporation recognizes Aurora St. Luke's as a top hospital for 6th straight yearTuesday, September 21, 2004
MILWAUKEE, Wis, Residents in southeastern Wisconsin have selected Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center as the top hospital for overall quality and image for the sixth straight year. Earlier this week, St. Luke’s Medical Center was named the 2004/2005 Consumer Choice Award winning hospital in Milwaukee. St. Luke’s is the only Milwaukee area hospital to receive this year’s award.
Each year, the National Research Corporation asks more than 400,000 consumers in 48 states which hospitals have the best overall quality and image. The hospitals with the highest scores are then named Consumer Choice winners. In the Milwaukee area, it was St. Luke’s - again.
``Patients continue to play an increasing role in their selection of healthcare facilities and services,`` says Michael D. Hays, National Research Corporation Chief Executive Officer. ``St. Luke’s deserves recognition for the emphasis it has placed on providing quality, patient-centered care.``
``Aurora St. Luke’s has gained increasing stature as a tertiary destination hospital,`` says Mark Ambrosius, President of Aurora Health Care, Metro Region. ``“At St. Luke’s, patients have access to national experts in heart care, the neurosciences, orthopedics and cancer. But having our patients publicly recognize this kind of care is very rewarding.``
A complete listing of winners can be found in the September 20th edition of Modern Healthcare magazine.
St. Luke’s Medical Center is a part of Aurora Health Care, a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora offers services at sites in 80 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin.
