WKTI radio personality to be featured at Aurora Health Care’s women’s event

Wednesday, March 09, 2005

Poet Maya Angelou once observed, “A woman who is convinced that she deserves to accept only the best challenges herself to give the best. Then she is living phenomenally.’’

Given the hectic pace of our lives, maintaining a positive, healthy, outlook is challenging sometimes. That’s why Aurora Health Care Community Education is teaming up with Grand Geneva Resort to offer a women’s health event titled, “It’s All in the Bag.’’ Designed to rejuvenate your spirit, the event features humor, wellness, nutrition, and health and beauty and looks at all the roles women play in their busy lives. The keynote speaker, Deb DiSandro, brings together her own mix of humor in a way that touches the funny bone and provides inspiration.

The event is scheduled from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, April 9, at Grand Geneva, Highway 50, Lake Geneva. Cost is $30 per person and includes both breakfast and lunch. For more information, please call 1-800-499-5736.

Other presenters include Brian Houston, salon owner and radio personality with 94.5 WKTI’s Reitman and Mueller Show, in a question and answer session covering beauty and fashion. Patti Cannella, fitness specialist, will cover the benefits of walking your way to better health. Sunday Muniz, pharmacist and certified clinical nutritionist, will discuss how nutrition and how it applies you and your health.

“We all have different roles that we play in our lives and Deb will take a hilarious look at those roles and the various purses that we carry along the way,’’ said Sandy Riese, one of the event coordinators. “Brian will also take questions about the latest in fashion and provide beauty tips that will be both entertaining and fun.’’
