Marquette Athletics announces partnership with Aurora Health CareThursday, March 10, 2005
Marquette Athletics and Nelligan Sports Marketing, Inc. (NSM) announced today a comprehensive, integrated partnership agreement with Aurora Health Care, which will include the designation as “The Official Health Care Provider of Marquette Athletics”. With this corporate sponsorship agreement, the largest in Marquette Athletics’ storied history, Aurora Health Care joins a prominent list of local and national companies including: Pepsi, Gatorade, FreedomRoads, Cyganiak Planning, Inc., and Allen Edmonds.
The partnership will provide Marquette Athletics with a number of resources from the Aurora Sports Medicine Institute and Aurora Sinai Medical Center including personnel support (trainers, nutritionist, orthopedists, and additional staff support), as well as key service benefits, that will provide Marquette Athletics with health care services necessary to compete at the highest levels in the Big East Conference.
“The partnership between Marquette Athletics and Aurora Health Care will provide our student athletes with access to some of our region’s premier health care professionals. This will be critical support as we move into the Big East Conference this year,” said Bill Cords, Marquette Athletics Director.

We are very proud that they selected Aurora and our Sports Medicine Institute and Aurora Sinai Medical Center to provide their athletes’ care,” said Ed Howe, President of Aurora Health Care. “In its constant pursuit of excellence, Marquette’s contribution to the Milwaukee community is immeasurable. Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of care. Aurora offers services at sites in more that 80 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin.
Founded in 1881, Marquette University offers 14 sports at the Division I level. Currently in Conference USA, Marquette has accepted invitation to compete in the Big East Conference beginning in Fall of 2005.
Nelligan Sports Marketing, Inc., based in Little Falls, New Jersey, represents a number of elite college properties including Marquette University, the BIG EAST Conference, University of Louisville, Colorado State University, Rutgers University, Georgetown University, Providence College, Ball State University, as well as the Colonial Athletic Association and its 10 member schools.
