Aurora Health Care to build clinic in SuamicoWednesday, November 01, 2006
Aurora Health Care is adding another location to its network of primary care services in Brown County with the construction of an Aurora Health Center in Suamico.
Work has started on the 1-story brick building at 2890 Lineville Rd., at the northwest corner of Lineville Rd. and Carolina Cherry Dr., just west of the Bay Port High School campus.
The 9,300-square-foot clinic will house up to 4 primary care providers who will offer the full spectrum of medical treatment, from newborn to elderly care. The center is being built to help meet the growing health care needs of northern Brown County and is scheduled to open in spring 2007.
"We are excited to offer Aurora's primary care services to the Howard-Suamico area," said Tom Koehler, M.D., an internist and president of Aurora's north region. "The growth that has taken place coupled with plans for future growth in the area makes it a perfect setting for an Aurora Health Center. We will fit in well with the mix of schools, family neighborhoods and retail activity in the area."
The clinic will have 12 exam rooms and one area for special procedures. It also will feature outpatient diagnostic services, including an on-site laboratory, X-ray and mammography services. It also will include a retail pharmacy.
In 2005 Aurora opened small clinics in nearby Pulaski and Seymour and will complete construction on similar projects in Denmark, Bonduel and Clintonville in early 2007.
Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora offers services at sites in more than 90 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin.
