Aurora Pharmacy today announced the acquisition of 6 Osco Drug Stores in southeast Wisconsin.

The pharmacies are all currently a part of the Jewel-Osco chain. Aurora Pharmacy has purchased the pharmacy portion of each of the stores from Super-Valu, which recently announced plans to sell the Jewel-Osco stores in southeastern Wisconsin.

"Adding these sites enables us to build upon the convenient locations of our current pharmacies and expand our customers' options to meet their prescription medication needs," said John Gates, director of pharmacy operations for Aurora Pharmacy.

The sites that are being purchased include:

  • 709 E. Capitol Dr., Milwaukee
  • 4061 N. 54th St., Milwaukee
  • 3850 N. 124th St., Wauwatosa
  • 6525 S. 27th St., Franklin
  • 7014 Green Bay Rd., Kenosha
  • 5740 Washington Ave., Racine

"With Aurora Pharmacy, you have the ability to get prescriptions filled at any of our more than 120 locations," said Gates. "Our emphasis is on meeting the individual needs of our customers through a variety of options."

Those options include multiple locations, refills by phone or through the Internet and home delivery and mail order service available at all Aurora Pharmacy sites.

"Aurora Pharmacy offers not only prescription medication service, but the benefits of a larger health system," added Gates. "As part of an integrated health system, Aurora Pharmacy offers people the added benefits of linking to health information and services that benefit their health and wellness."
