Aurora Health Foundation Golf Classic Pushes Challenge Total to $32,000Wednesday, June 18, 2008
The Aurora Health Foundation’s 8th Annual Manitowoc County Golf Classic held June 10 at Branch River Country Club pushed their fundraising total to $32,000.
Proceeds benefit the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) in Manitowoc County, which brings life-saving in-home services --Lifeline® and MD.2 medication dispensing -- to those who cannot afford them.
“There are at least 100 people in Manitowoc County who don’t have one or either of these services because of cost,” said Jeanne Kobuszewski, executive director of philanthropy at Aurora Health Foundation.
Lifeline® provides 24-hour access to help, with one press of a button. MD.2 Personal Medication System helps people take the prescribed amount of medication at the right time.
Dollars raised at the event will go toward the challenge set by the Ruth St. John & John Dunham West Foundation. The West Foundation will donate $50,000 to the VNA if the Aurora Health Foundation meets its $50,000 fund-raising goal this year. Another $18,000 in contributions is needed by Dec. 31. To donate, call (920) 794-5151, visit www.Aurora.org/HelpAHF or mail to Aurora Health Foundation, 5000 Memorial Drive, Two Rivers, Wis. 54241.
