Aurora Health Care in Two Rivers Offers Saturday Colonoscopy AppointmentsFriday, January 23, 2009
Two Rivers, Wis. - Aurora Gastroenterologist Rajesh Sharma, M.D., will offer colonoscopy appointments on Saturdays at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers on Jan. 31, Feb. 28 and March 28.
Before the scheduled procedure, patients are asked to see Sharma for a consultation at his office located at Aurora Manitowoc Clinic, 601 Reed Ave. At that time, patients will then schedule a weekday or Saturday appointment for a colonoscopy, which will be done at Aurora Medical Center.
The flexible scheduling is an added convenience for busy patients who may not be available during the week.
A colonoscopy is an exam that allows a doctor to see and closely look at the inside of the colon for signs of cancer or polyps, which are small growths that can lead to cancer. Regular colonoscopies can prevent colon cancer in most patients. They are recommended for men and women ages 50 and older or sooner if there is a family history of colon cancer or polyps.
Patients are encouraged to check with their insurance provider for procedure coverage.
