Aurora QuickCare offers cost-effective health care option in economic downturnWednesday, February 18, 2009
Milwaukee, Wis. -- Job losses, stock declines and worries about the economy appear in the news on a daily basis. With such concerns a constant, many people are looking for ways to cut costs.
Aurora QuickCare is one of those options helping people to receive care for some basic health problems and save a few dollars at the same time.
“We see many patients who don’t have insurance or who opted for high deductibles for their insurance plans. QuickCare provides them with affordable care for common family illnesses like sore throats,” said Janet Teske, nurse practitioner and Aurora QuickCare manager. “Other people say the short wait times are crucial because it keeps them from missing work.”
“Not only is it convenient because I work nearby, but it’s a great value,” said patient Joellen Price, who uses the Aurora QuickCare in Southridge Mall in Greendale, Wis. “In this economy, everyone is watching their money, so that’s an important consideration. I also think the staff is great. They’re always very efficient and friendly.”
Patients say they like the integration of the QuickCare clinics with the broader array of services and care that is a part of Aurora Health Care. The QuickCare sites are staffed by health care providers supported by Aurora’s extensive network of physicians and facilities. The direct link between QuickCare and Aurora makes it easier for a patient’s primary care physician to stay up to date on their symptoms, treatment and any follow up care that is necessary.
Aurora QuickCare staff can assess patients, write prescriptions, advise individuals on how to manage symptoms, or tell them if they will need additional care.
Aurora QuickCare offers tests to quickly diagnose common minor ailments, and services range from $49 to $69. QuickCare accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare.
