National group recognizes St. Luke's for 5th straight yearWednesday, October 08, 2003
Quality health care is something patients look for every day. For the fifth straight year, residents in the Milwaukee areas have made their choice known by selecting St. Luke’s Medical Center as a 2003 Consumer Choice Award winning hospital.
Each year the National Research Corporation asks more than 140,000 consumers which hospitals have the best overall quality and image. The hospitals with the highest scores are then named Consumer Choice winners. In the Milwaukee area, St. Luke’s wins again.
“St. Luke’s deserves recognition for the emphasis it has placed on providing quality, patient-centered care,” says Michael Hays, National Research Corporation President and CEO.
“Having our patients recognize the kind of quality care we offer is very rewarding,” says Mark Ambrosius, President of Aurora Health Care, Metro Region. “At St. Luke’s patients have access to national experts in heart care, the neurosciences, orthopedics and cancer. This award shows that Milwaukee residents understand the level of care that St. Luke’s offers.”
This is the fifth straight year St. Luke’s has won a Consumer Choice Award. St. Luke’s also won similar awards from the same company in 1996 and 1997. A complete listing of winners can be found in the magazine Modern Healthcare.
St. Luke’s Medical Center is part of Aurora Health Care, a community-owned Wisconsin health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora has care sites in 75 communities in eastern Wisconsin.
