Aurora Lakeland Foundation Board Distributes $185,000Thursday, September 22, 2011
Elkhorn, Wis., — The Aurora Lakeland Medical Center Foundation gave more than $185,000 this year to expand cardiac telemonitoring services at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, renovate the obstetrics and women's health unit and create a women’s center.
The most recent funding was a $100,000 grant – proceeds from the Foundation’s Benefit Ball. The Foundation’s contribution will provide the addition of valuable clinical equipment to many Aurora Lakeland departments.
Scott Christian, chairman for the Aurora Lakeland Foundation Board of Directors, said the foundation was proud to provide fund the purchase of infant warmers, vital signs monitors and updates for the newborn area. The funds will also acquire a nerve integrity monitor that will enables surgeons to identify and monitor function in order to reduce. the risk of nerve damage during surgery.
“As part of the Foundation board, our mission is to make a difference in the lives of the patients and families who rely on our hospital,” Christian said. “Because of the tremendous community support, we have had the opportunity to raise funds that make that commitment a reality.”
The Aurora Lakeland Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors for 2011-2012 includes Maureen Berkowitz, Scott T. Christian, David Conrad, LaVerne H. Duncan, Chuck Ebeling, James W. Gee, Terri J. Jambor, Steve Jensen, Britton Kolar, MD, Alice Morava, Mike Morse, Kim O’Keefe, B.G. O’Reilly, Bob Rauland, Kathleen Skowlund, Tom Stuhley and Michelle Weber.
Vicki Lewis, Aurora Lakeland’s vice president and chief administrative officer, said, “The renovations and new equipment at Aurora Lakeland are an important investment and help us to fulfill our commitment to provide state-of-the art care for the community.”
