Aurora's Comprehensive Hyperbaric and Wound Care Center Now OpenMonday, July 21, 2014
Dr. Asif Tahir, a specialist in hyperbaric oxygen and wound therapy joins center
TWO RIVERS, Wis. – Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc County is pleased to introduce Manitowoc County's first Comprehensive Hyperbaric and Wound Care Center. Specialists for the center use the latest medical techniques, technology and wound dressings to stimulate and speed up the healing process.
"The Comprehensive Hyperbaric and Wound Care Center is a wonderful addition for the Manitowoc community," said Cathie Kocourek, president of Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc County. "Patients who would benefit from hyperbaric oxygen therapy or any of the other services offered are now able to receive treatment close to home."
In addition, Dr. Tahir, a board-certified internal medicine physician specializing in hyperbaric oxygen therapy and wound treatment, has joined the center. Dr. Tahir has experience in treating a variety of conditions, including non-healing wounds, diabetic wounds, delayed radiation injuries, compromised skin grafts and flaps, carbon monoxide poisoning, intracranial abscesses, crush injuries, necrotizing soft tissue and bone infections, and scuba diving injuries.
