Wilkinson Medical Clinic to offer care in WalesWednesday, June 16, 2004
WALES, Wis., Wilkinson Medical Clinic announced today that it will establish a primary care clinic to serve the people of Wales and surrounding communities.
The clinic will occupy part of a building to be built at the corner of Highway 18 and Oakcrest Drive, about a half mile east of Highway 83. The clinic will total about 4,000 square feet and accommodate up to two physicians. Initially, one family practice physician will provide care at the clinic.
“Many of our patients live in Wales or nearby,” said Scott Baker, administrator of Wilkinson Medical Clinic. “This new clinic will provide a new option for care closer to home.”
The clinic will have laboratory and X-ray capabilities in addition to exam rooms. It will be similar in design to a new Wilkinson clinic that will open in Dousman in August.
The Wales clinic will be among several tenants in a 12,000-square-foot building. Construction is under way, and the building is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Plans call for the clinic to open in January 2005.
The physicians and staff of Wilkinson Medical Clinic provide care for more than 40,000 patients in western Waukesha County. Wilkinson’s other clinics are in Oconomowoc, Hartland, Delafield and Pewaukee.
Wilkinson Medical Clinic is part of Aurora Health Care, a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora offers services at sites in more than 80 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin.
